Styal Running Club has been on the move again, and completed another momentous charity challenge! All members were cordially invited to complete the European Grand Tour - 5695 virtual miles over 25 days, starting on Thursday 30th October and finishing at the Wilmslow Festive 10k on Sunday 23rd November.

The chosen charity for 2025 is once again Visyon, which supports the emotional wellbeing of children, young people and their families throughout Cheshire East.

Charity event co-ordinator Allison Kirkbride explains:

“By taking on this challenge, we’re raising awareness and funds for a wonderful charity that supports children and young people in need. Visyon provides mental health support in Cheshire East through counselling, mentoring and parental workshops. With 1 in 5 children and young people now suffering from mental health problems, this is a brilliant charity for the club to support. Every donation will make a real impact to the lives of young people.”

95 runners took part, with some completing more than 200 miles each. The grand total was 5845 miles - 150 miles over the target - and so far nearly £1700 has been donated to the charity. For every £5 donated club members ere entered into a raffle, with fantastic prizes generously donated by local businesses including Running Bear - who also supplied the eye catching T shirts which members bought to wear during the challenge. All profits from the sales are going to Visyon.
